Payroll and Benefits Administrator

 

Core Function:

Process a multi-location biweekly, hourly and salary payroll for approximately 600 employees and maintain employee files. Provide superior customer service to all employees by ensuring effective and accurate processing of payroll and responding to various enquiries including benefit administration. This position reports to Payroll and Benefits Manager

 

Major Duties:

 

  • Process payroll master file changes including new hires, terminations, rate changes, etc. using Ceridian Dayforce
  • Calculate weekly time reports and ensure compliance with multi - province legislation.
  • Meeting strict deadlines and ensuring employees are paid accurately.
  • Review every current pay for accuracy processing, garnishments, ROE's, Statistics Canada Reports and any internal reports.
  • Responds to enquiries from employees regarding payroll policies and procedures and research specific areas of concern.
  • Prepare the payroll journal entries for the payroll and benefit charges, accrual and statutory deductions.
  • Prepare Management reports.
  • Maintain employee files.
  • Ensure accuracy of vacation accruals, garnishees and other related information.
  • Administer the Benefits plan enquiries.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times and perform prompt service to the employees.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in payroll and benefit administration.
  • Minimum 5 years' Experience with Dayforce 
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organization, time management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Windows including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Able to deal with confidential issues professionally and with the utmost discretion.
  • Accounting knowledge an asset.
  • Multi location payroll processing an asset.
